The Nomad Passport Index evaluates passports based on five key criteria: visa-free travel, taxation policies, global perception, dual citizenship allowances, and personal freedom. Ireland achieved an impressive score of 109, surpassing Switzerland and Greece, which tied for second place.

These policies have led to increased interest among Americans with Irish heritage, with over 8,500 applying for Irish passports in the first two months of 2025.
